Curious about pottery? This three-week introductory series is perfect for teens and adults who want to experience the pottery wheel for the first time! Whether you’re a total beginner or just looking to explore something new, this class will guide you through the basics in a relaxed, small-group setting.
What You’ll Learn:
How to center clay and shape it into bowls, mugs, and more
Techniques for creating curves and taller forms
Trimming, finishing, and adding handles
Basics of glazing to give your pottery a beautiful, functional finish
Class Plan:
Week 1: Centering clay and throwing bowls of all sizes
Week 2: Creating curves and throwing taller pieces like mugs
Week 3: Trimming, finishing, and adding handles
Bonus Glazing Day (March 16): Learn how to glaze your pieces to perfection
What’s Included:
Personalized small-group instruction (limit 5 students)
All materials (clay, glazes, tools)
Firing for up to four finished pottery pieces
Your pieces will remain at the studio to dry, be kiln-fired, and glazed. Finished works will be ready for pickup approximately three weeks after the glazing day.
