Ready to explore all things pottery wheel? This six-week series is perfect for beginners who are eager to try their hand at wheel throwing, as well as those with a little prior experience who want to deepen their skills. In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of creating pottery on the wheel and go step-by-step through each stage of the process, from centering clay to glaze application.

What You’ll Learn:

• Centering, pulling walls, and shaping clay

• Throwing bowls, plates, mugs, vases, pitchers, and serving dishes

• Trimming, carving, and adding handles

• Glazing techniques, including wax resist and layering combinations

• Week 1:

  • Tuesday: Throwing a bowl and a plate

  • Thursday: Trimming and carving your pieces

• Week 2:

  • Tuesday: Throwing a mug and a vase

  • Thursday: Trimming and adding handles

• Week 3:

  • Tuesday: Throwing a pitcher and a serving dish

  • Thursday: Handles and trimming

• Glazing Day (Feb. 11): Learn the basics of glaze application and wax resist to finish your creations beautifully.
